Yes, I think you can get upset that you do not get some free loot or anything else to be with this machine, but I do not buy it for prey.

We go to the point, huh?

Plus: Gorgeous, smooth graphics in Star Trek Online, DDO, Champions Online and Team Fortress 2 with the sliding elbow just shy of max. EAX sound is amazing: the sound decent, well outside the speakers (actually the rock with my headphones though). CPU performance and multitasking is sweet and sensitive. I sailed Multi-Word, Visual Studio and Photoshop CS, no lag or problems.

More than you can shake a stick doors a lot of USB, eSATA, FireWire (1394) and HDMI (1080p outputs full when floats your boat). Bluetooth devices can be connected easily. Windows 7 Amazing performance (sets 9 Windows Experience fifth out of the box, with 6 6s graphics, before any tweaking) />

Con: Runs hot. Be sure that the side openings to keep for free cooling. It might be worth investing in a cooling mat for this Bad Boy. In addition, you can not please pre-install a bunch of crap on our new high-performance gaming machine? I had a lot of games and ASUS cheesey things to remove before I could really go to work.

I did some research and this laptop seemed entirely by those people to buy, and greeted the few who had been expecting it. I also saw that it seemed that most of the first transport of 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM instead of 1066 came. I opened my 1333 and there. A power problem, I think. Very nice as it is a $ 150 + Update on some sites.

I installed Borderlands and looked like a dog at first, then I realized I that I ’s had AC adapter plugged in, you will automatically go into sleep mode when on battery only (of course) and makes a big difference. Once connected I have all the settings on high, except for anti-aliasing at 4 instead of 16 native resolution of 1920×1080 and ran a bit “slow. The frame rate is usually around 30 End for most games, but not an FPS. was at 1280×720 frame rate in the 50’s. I played about an hour and it was running hot, so I stopped for a while. “I bought this notebook to an old Dell laptop I have burned to replace, because I saw the card on the Dell, so I was a little “Fear, perhaps unnecessarily.

The keyboard is good, but the real keys are smooth, it could use some type of structure or concave shape. It turned out to be very useful (hit Fn + F4, as it first, I was off).
Could use a port on the back (I like to use a cooling pad), but two is fine on each side near the front on this. />
the physical switch for WLAN and Bluetooth like.

No dead pixels, I will limit myself to near 30 days, but I hope not have to RMA. Nice guarantees for this thing, definitely a plus. Be careful if you try an ASUS from Best Buy Buy – not with all standards ASUS warranty, I think the accident. Why Best Buy wants his insurance for $ 179 sold.

The thing I like most about this laptop is the screen size. No solution, but the physical format. It is approximately 4.3 inch screen on the sides and bottom, and almost a quarter of an inch high. This makes the notebook less visually appealing, as large and frequent. The top bezel is large, probably because of the webcam, which I never use. The screen could easily be 16 + inches, that many would help with high resolution. At 1920×1080 you need a laptop of any size can be achieved. Text 100% is small, but my sent to 125% so clever of them. I use it primarily for painting in Photoshop and Painter as high resolution is great. The experiment, text is displayed on the screen difficult, if not someone can read, unless they are really close.

Another thing I liked was, 40 + GB of software preinstalled. Why would anyone want this whole shit is a mystery to me. I wanted to delete and reinstall, but not the operating system has Quick Start I look and see if it is deleted, and if there is no trouble to install it again. I plan on wiping almost always a new computer, but are not most people so that is a factor.

my backpack and mouse, I have some others do not see. Oh yeah

is not black, even the darkest part of the cover is dark blue.

Also: RAM upgrade + free + veloceTasti

    lit + + + Wireless Switch
    backpack and free-slip mouseTasti

    ; screen size and physical-bloatware

    Overall very satisfied.

Overall I am very happy with this laptop. I do not use my computer very often separated at all, battery life is not a big problem. I was a bit “anxious to buy the other out of my Asus last one was bad, but the period of two years, I made me feel better to take a chance on this model. This can tell you how long it since I bought a laptop but it was common to see two guarantees years and was honest, I’m surprised that does not offer all models from Asus this cover. To be honest, I give this laptop 4, 5 stars are going mainly dinged “cheap” with the choice of the operating system.

    Complaints:
Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium for “high-end gaming platform, simply makes no sense. I had expected at least the Professional version at that price. Incidentally, almost all my complaints about the lack of Windows and it is the ability for many applications, not so old that I run depend. So be prepared, including some money for the latest versions of the programs on 7, which were executed perfectly on XP drop. In addition, any piece of the 100-GB Hard Drive 500 GB is not available out of the box with Microsoft “Upgrade Flash” OS Professional / Ultimate are already on the DVD. I think it’s easy to update for some this way but I always insist on a physical disk drive for the day crater. (ASUS would be helpful if you instructions or “Uninstall” option in order to use these files for those of us, our disk space for our delete) was, or should I rent for Microsoft for free?
    ;
No Blu-ray. Ok, maybe I should not complain list like this because I know that I had when I bought it, knew but seriously, why through the hassle and expense of a true 1080p display and not on a drive to show / load Blu-ray or HD-title go? I hope that Asus will provide a replacement unit with a capacity with a reasonable cost Blu-ray/HD. Incidentally, Microsoft has not considered important to HD playback of Windows 7 (corner of incredible support!) And from that moment I did not apply to on-on this machine, the BluRay / HD files to play installed found! More $ $ $ for a program for this belief.

Speakers: The sound is best summed up as anemic. I expected more from Altec Lansing brand. . . while sound ok (not great by any standard, an audiophile), my biggest gripe is very small AT MAX OUPUT than my last HP notebook that is strong enough to embarrass me would! No problem with that, in this sense, unfortunately. (Asus, I went through all the menus twisted to try to optimize more power, but I am disappointed!). It is not low enough, nor sharp. . Maybe I’m just a bad sound module? At least the headphone output is pretty good.

The bag contained, while appreciated, is just big enough to carry around the laptop / power supply, mouse, and some ornaments. It feels a bit “on the cheap side compared to my other Targus bag. Maybe it’s easier on your back in this way. ;-)

This is not a complaint, only a “heads up” Heat! Under heavy load (or graphics intensive operation) this puppy will pump some BTU! And “main exit vent is on the left side and I found it very useful hot for keeping my coffee (not just hot! ). This is almost an advantage, but I can understand why Asus does not want to make them public. Just be careful to escape. The extreme heat is enough under load worries me even remotely flammable within a foot or so in the mouth. Asus has a great job keeping the heat from the keyboard and made the upper zone (although it is certainly welcome in the winter, keep your hands warm while typing!). I have read that the Intel i7 chip is a chip under load hot, so this is “normal” If you have a Quad-Core i7-run, no matter who builds. The current i5 I was also a hot car, but the i7 is definitely warmer.

sees the part of any laptop more and then, in my opinion is the most important, the screen is sharp and bright . The colors are natural and implementation “Splendid you can display virtually unlimited. Maybe 1080p is 15th on a 6″ screen a bit “too much, but I’m not complaining. I find myself while zooming.

keyboard lighting is great and you can adjust the intensity (choose three settings). The ergonomics are right and I like having a keyboard on the keyboard. The keys feel a bit easier on the “cheap, But to work well. I say “fair” on the edge of the ergonomic palm rest tends to bite “in my lower arms for a few minutes. The top of the palm rest is covered with a” jelly babies “layer that is comfortable, but the board is a bit” too strong for my taste. This is not a big problem, but I am very thorough and critical of my more expensive goods.

Wireless: The best and most sensible I’ve ever seen. I wonder about the scope of this laptop has wireless base station. Almost twice as something I had before. Well done Asus!

Bluetooth: I had problems with Skype (about the only time I used the Bluetooth), and it was my Plantronics headset after a few minutes in one sitting. Could be just the Skype software, I do not know. The headset works perfectly for hours at a time with my BlackBerry. Perhaps there is a conflict? I will find the problem and update when I do.

Gaming / graphics: I consider myself a casual gamer, but I was impressed very satisfied with the frame rate, even at full 1920X1024 resolution! Runs X3, Silent Hunter IV, Half-Life 2 with all options maxed no problem. (Heat is Generated!) I will update this as I try other games. My main use of this power is TurboCAD how much work to do design and the car flies through anything I throw at it.

The mouse is given great! I have always used Logitech mice, but I think I have a new alternative. It is not wireless (that would be even better), but it is a joy to use.

The touchpad is not true of the “new” style of my own Asus is to use a lot more pleasant. I hate multi-finger gestures, and set much rather have a scroll bar, as it is. In addition, auto-off when the mouse is connected (software option). The pad is great!

I will try an update of 90 days not so stay tuned.

I can not say enough good things about this device. Yes, the “Game Boy Packaging is a bit ‘obvious, and it is a fingerprint magnet, but what is on the inside that counts. The ultra-high density is amazing. The speed is incredible and the properties can not be beat for the money. As an IT professional, I have dealt with the technical support of Asus’ in the past and found them to be exposed. The free reporting accidental breakage is unprecedented. Take your time!

  5. T. A. Pierce says:

On paper this machine seems to have it all. However, there is an important question – does the whole way down in the middle of the game. For COD MW2 operation of the machine would have made about 5-10 minutes into the game and would be turned off completely, as if someone had the power, cut the engine. We tested this over and over with games and various stress-testing tools (Furmark, etc.) The laptop is not closed in any particular case, it happens about 50% of the time. During the execution of CPU / GPU intensive applications that we had no problems. After several calls to ASUS support, they could not determine the problem and wanted me to return the unit for repair (after only two days). Fortunately, Amazon let me return the unit for a replacement. However, we have only received a replacement machine yesterday and have exactly the same problem with it! After some digging

on the Internet, it seems others had the same problem and a problem known of these laptops. All indications point to the fact that the CPU / GPU too hot or the power supply is too hot even, and the machine turns off completely.

be encouraged, other possibilities if you try this notebook – especially for games.
